Mexicano cannot be printed in advance — every round is built from the current table. Draw round one, type in the scores, and the next round appears with the leaders on court one. Free, in your browser, no account.

Round 1 is a plain draw — there is nothing to rank yet. From round 2 the courts are built from the table.

How Mexicano actually works

After each round the players are ranked by total points. The top four go to court one, the next four to court two, and so on down the club.

Inside a court the pairing is fixed: first with fourth against second with third. It is deliberately lopsided on paper, which is exactly what keeps the score close — the strongest player carries the weakest of the four.

Round one is the exception. There is no table yet, so it is a plain draw; from round two the standings do the work.

Scores share a pool: if the round is to 24 and one side gets 15, the other gets 9. Type one number and the tool fills in the other, then adds both to every player on that side.

With numbers that do not divide by four, the people who have rested least sit out. Nobody gets stuck watching two rounds in a row.

Questions organisers ask

What is the difference between Mexicano and Americano?
Americano mixes for variety — you play with everyone. Mexicano mixes by result — you play with and against people on your points. Scoring is identical; only the draw differs.
Can you make a full Mexicano schedule in advance?
No, and any tool that offers one is not running a Mexicano. Round two depends on the scores of round one, so the evening is drawn one round at a time. That is what this page does.
Who plays with whom on each court?
First with fourth against second with third, by current standings. Court one holds ranks 1 to 4, court two ranks 5 to 8, and so on.
How many points per round?
24 is the usual pool and fits a 12–15 minute round. Use 16 for short rounds, 32 for longer ones.
